This tutorial will show you way to create a Blog post and how to assign a post to categories.
- Create a Blog post
Let’s get started by going to the Blogs module> click on green plus icon on the right side of the page.
On the next page, you will see the post’s editor. The most important parts of this page are:
- Post Title – enter the title of your post in this field which will be shown above your content.
- Post – use the editor to add the actual content of your post. Note that HTML codes also can be added directly.
When editing a Blog post, adding images, emoji icon, and attachments to your posts can be done from the footer bar of the editor:
Once you enter the content of your post, you need to Publish it to bring your post to your actual website. That’s it! You can now go to the front page of your site to check out the newly created blog post.
2. Assign a post to categories
Once you have the category structure created in Blog, you can add your blog posts to categories. There are two ways you can do this.
- The first one is to select category when you first write a new post in section 1 above. In addition, one post can be placed in more than one category. This gives you a lot of flexibility to show exactly the posts you want.
- The second way is to edit an existing post. To do this go to Blogs > All Blogs. Next, select the blog posts you want to add/edit category, click on the gear icon, select Edit, place the category you want to assign it to and finally press the Update.
