What if your users want to have a private chat with their friends in your community? Understand that need, we provide the IM Chat for you to allow your users to send individual messages, attach external links, share emoji to other users.

Notice

  • This app is applied for Neutron Pro package only. Refer to https://www.phpfox.com/pricing to see all packages.
  • This app is currently compatible with phpFox 4.5.2 or later.
  • If you install this app, it will replace the current Instant Messaging core app.

  1. Conversation
  2. Click on message icon to open the Messenger popup
  3. Can search friends in the friend list to start the conversation
  4. Auto-suggestion while searching friends. Limit 100 conversations to show in Messenger popup as default
  5. Can resize the Messenger popup
  6. Can open the Messenger in new tab
  7. Notification for a new message:* At top notification if user does not open Messenger popup
  8. * At the corresponding conversation if the popup is being opened
  9. Move the latest conversation on top

Installation Guide

Please follow below steps to install new phpfox IM app:

  1. Give 777 permission for folder PF.Site/Apps/core-im/.
  2. Install the IM app from the store.
  3. Give 775 permission for files in folder PF.Site/Apps/core-imassets/sounds/.
sudo chmod -R 775 core-im/assets/sounds/
  1. Follow the instruction //docs.phpfox.com/display/FOX4MAN/Server+Setup+for+IM+Module to set up chat server.
  2. Clear cache on your site
